Frequently asked questions
- Which plan do I need for one driver?
- Start with 50 free DeCAs a month, no card required. The Owner-driver plan includes 200 DeCAs a month and 1 driver for €9/month, excluding VAT. Choose Company for multiple users or API integration, and Agency for managing several companies.
- Can I send a DeCA via WhatsApp?
- Yes. After generating a document, the WhatsApp button opens a message with its link. You choose the recipient and confirm sending. This is not automatic delivery.
- Does the driver have to install an app?
- No. They can use their mobile browser with their phone number and PIN. They can also add DeCAya to their home screen if they prefer.
- Does it work without a connection?
- The app needs a connection to access documents and create or update a DeCA. You can download the PDF before a trip and save it on your device. DeCAya does not yet sync documents for offline access; opening the QR link requires a connection.
- Can I already import a PDF or transport order?
- Not yet: reading a PDF or transport order with AI is not available. What you can import from Excel or CSV is your companies, vehicles and drivers (Owner-driver, Company and Agency plans). Each DeCA is created with the form, by duplicating an earlier one or from a template, and the API is available on the Company and Agency plans.
- What is the DeCA?
- The DeCA is Spain's electronic administrative control document (Documento electrónico de Control Administrativo) used in certain public road freight transports.
- When does the digital DeCA become mandatory?
- On 5 October 2026 for domestic Spanish transport covered by the regulation.
- Can paper still be used?
- The document must be generated digitally. The driver may carry an electronic copy or a printed copy bearing the corresponding QR code.
- Does the DeCA have to be signed?
- Not as a general rule. A signature may be needed when the document is also used for contractual purposes.
- How long must it be kept?
- At least one year.
- Can a consignment note serve as the DeCA?
- They are different documents, but the consignment note format can be used for the DeCA if it contains all the mandatory data and meets the electronic document requirements.
